Dear Tita Witty

I have a barkada made up of four girls and three guys since high school. We’ve all graduated from college and we still hang out until the wee hours in the morning just chatting. Everyone’s close to each other and us girls are dropped off at our places since all the guys drive motorcycles.

These past few weeks, I’ve had four dreams about one of the guy friends at sa lahat na ‘yun ay sweet kami. ‘Yung isa naka-back hug siya tapos masaya kami, ‘yung isa naman magka-holding hands kami habang nasa dagat tumatakbo (o ‘di ba lakas maka-Marimar!) Tita, it feels weird! I told him I’ve been having dreams about him but I didn’t say what they were about. Tapos basta parang nag-iba na ang tingin ko sa kanya. I appreciate him more now, lahat ng ginagawa niya nabibigyan ko na ng meaning (ang OA lang). Minsan nagtext siya sabay na raw ako sa kanya pumasok. Kinakabahan na ‘ko ngayon kapag magkikita kami. Ano ba ‘tong nararamdaman ko? Hahahaha. Help, Tita Witty!

Dear OA Girl,

Based sa kwento mo, here is my diagnosis:

1. Pag-ilusyon. Dreams are made of your heart’s deepest desires and what you had for dinner. In this case, hindi lumabas ang dinner mo pero girl, hanep sa fantasies! Habulan sa beach! Ingat-ingat lang at baka umabot sa kidnapan at hostage-taking sa warehouse.
2. Pagbibigay ng meaning. At least nasa awareness stage ka na dito. So next time, if he offers you food, ‘wag masyadong ma-excite, ha? Pagkain lang ‘yun, hindi kasal.
3. Stage 1 – Being In love. This disease takes away all your intelligence. Your IQ will go down for about 100 points. It also results to blindness (i.e. gumagwapo ang mga hindi naman gwapo). It will make you very, very vulnerable. Studies show that there is no cure – you just have to prepare yourself for what could be a very painful experience. There is a pill you can take to ease the pain and it’s called “Not Expecting Anything”. Be sure to take it as prescribed dahil marami nang nag-promise na iinumin nila ito pero hindi naman iniinom.
